Fleet snapshot of September 28, 2026. Prices and availability change daily — the live list below is current.
Sicily is a charter destination for crews who want volcanic islands and real passages. Most of the fleet is based on the north-east coast at Portorosa (Furnari) and Capo d'Orlando, with Milazzo nearby — all within a day's sail of the Aeolian islands. Palermo, Castellammare del Golfo, Trapani and Marsala serve the west, and Siracusa and Giardini Naxos the east coast.
Sailing yachts are the largest group, with a strong catamaran fleet and a handful of gulets for crewed weeks. The classic route from Portorosa or Capo d'Orlando crosses to Vulcano and Lipari, continues to Salina and Panarea, and reaches Stromboli, where an evening off the island to watch the eruptions is the highlight of many trips. From the west coast, the Egadi islands — Favignana, Levanzo and Marettimo — are a shorter, quieter alternative.
The season runs from May to October. The maestrale from the north-west is the usual summer wind, and the scirocco brings hot south-easterlies. Anchorages in the Aeolians are deep and open to swell from some directions, so a flexible plan and a few nights in harbour help.

Which Sicilian base is best for the Aeolian islands?
Portorosa and Capo d'Orlando on the north coast, or Milazzo, are the closest bases; Vulcano and Lipari are within a day's sail. From Palermo the Aeolians are a longer passage, and the Egadi islands are the more natural choice from the west coast.
How do I get to a charter base in Sicily?
Catania airport is the usual gateway for Portorosa, Capo d'Orlando, Milazzo and the east coast; Palermo airport serves Palermo, Castellammare del Golfo and the west, with Trapani nearby as well.
Is Sicily suitable for less experienced sailors?
The Aeolian route involves open-water legs, deep anchorages and occasional swell, so it suits crews with some experience. A skippered week, or the shorter hops of the Egadi islands, is a gentler introduction.
