Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show

From 28 October to 1 November the show spreads across six venues: Bahia Mar Yachting Center, Las Olas Marina, Hall of Fame Marina, Pier Sixty-Six Marina, the Superyacht Village at Pier Sixty-Six South and the Broward County Convention Center. An independent visitor’s guide, and a week of sailing south to Biscayne Bay and the Keys.

What to expect

  • Boats of every size in the water, from centre consoles to the yachts in the Superyacht Village.
  • Equipment, electronics and services at the Convention Center and along the docks.
  • Shuttles, golf carts and water taxis between the venues, according to the organiser.

Plan your visit

  • The organiser recommends the Broward County Convention Center as the parking and transport hub.
  • Plan by venue rather than by hour: the sites are strung along the Intracoastal Waterway, and moving between them takes time.
  • Hurricane season runs to 30 November. If you are sailing before or after the show, keep an eye on the tropics.

Sailing nearby: a week to Biscayne Bay and the Keys

Fort Lauderdale is a good starting point for a week south. Our 7-day itinerary runs out through Port Everglades to Key Biscayne, down Biscayne Bay to Boca Chita and Elliott Key, through Card Sound and out to the Key Largo reefs: about 155 nm in seven legs.

The inside legs suit boats drawing about 5 feet or less, and the two coastal legs depend on the wind and the Gulf Stream. The itinerary has the depths, bridges, anchorages and fees for each stop.
