Fleet snapshot of September 28, 2026. Prices and availability change daily — the live list below is current.
The Caribbean is the classic winter charter ground: warm water, steady trade winds and chains of islands close enough together that most passages are a few hours of beam or broad reaching. BOATAROUND groups the region's island nations here, from the Virgin Islands and the Leeward Islands down to Martinique and Guadeloupe, plus the Bahamas and the Dominican Republic.
The fleet is dominated by catamarans, which suit the region well — lots of deck space, shallow draft for anchoring off beaches and a stable platform in the trade-wind swell. The British Virgin Islands are the largest base, with fleets in Road Town, Nanny Cay, Soper's Hole and Hodge's Creek on Tortola. Le Marin in Martinique opens south to Saint Lucia and the Grenadines, Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe to Les Saintes and Marie-Galante, and Marigot and Anse Marcel on Saint Martin to Anguilla and St Barths. The Bahamas, from Nassau, Palm Cay and Marsh Harbour, offer shallow-bank sailing of a different kind.
The main season runs from December to May, when the north-easterly to easterly trades blow steadily. The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June to November; charters are still possible then, but plan with the forecast and a flexible itinerary.

Questions about chartering here
When is the best time to charter in the Caribbean?
December to May is the main season, with dry weather and reliable trade winds. The hurricane season runs from June to November; the weeks either side of it are quieter and cheaper, but keep a close eye on the forecast.
Do I need a licence to charter in the Caribbean?
A bareboat charter needs a recognised sailing licence for the skipper, and a radio certificate on board is usually expected. If nobody in the crew holds them, choose a skippered or fully crewed boat, which needs no licence.
Which Caribbean base suits a first charter?
The British Virgin Islands are the usual choice: short, sheltered hops between islands inside the Sir Francis Drake Channel and plenty of mooring buoys. Martinique and Guadeloupe suit crews who want longer open-water passages between islands.
How many charter boats are available in Caribbean?
1,403 boats are based in Caribbean in our latest fleet snapshot, from operators including ACM Caraibes, Dream Yacht Charter, Five Seasons Yachting - Portocolom.
How much does a yacht charter in Caribbean cost?
Nightly prices start at €287 for a boat with cabins; a typical boat here costs about €456 a night, roughly €3,192 for a Saturday-to-Saturday week. July and August cost more, and skipper, fuel and extras are usually on top.
Which boat types can I charter in Caribbean?
The fleet here includes: Catamaran (887), Sailing yacht (184), Power catamaran (134), Motorboat (108), Motor yacht (90).
