Fleet snapshot of September 28, 2026. Prices and availability change daily — the live list below is current.
Sweden is a summer sailing destination built around its archipelagos, and its charter fleet is almost all sailing yachts, with a small number of motor yachts and motorboats. The boats are young, many only a few years old, which fits a market where most sailing is concentrated into a short, bright summer.
The Stockholm archipelago is the centre, with bases in Stockholm, at Bullandö, Saltsjö Pir in Fisksätra and Gustavsberg. Tens of thousands of islands and skerries stretch out towards the Baltic, from wooded inner islands close to the city to bare rocks on the outer edge, with guest harbours, island villages and sheltered natural anchorages throughout. Gothenburg has a smaller fleet for the west coast and the Bohuslän archipelago.
The main season is June to August, with light nights around midsummer. Winds are usually moderate in summer and there is almost no tide in the Baltic. Mooring bow-to against the rocks with a stern anchor is a Scandinavian classic and part of the experience; the charts need careful reading, because the archipelago is full of rocks just below the surface.

Questions about chartering here
When is the best time to sail in Sweden?
June to August. Midsummer brings very long days, July is the warmest and busiest month, and late August is quieter with water still pleasant. Outside summer many guest harbours and services close.
Do I need a licence to charter in Sweden?
For bareboat charter the skipper should hold a recognised sailing licence and have relevant experience. If the crew has neither, a skippered charter is the better choice.
Stockholm or the west coast?
The Stockholm archipelago offers sheltered, maze-like island sailing close to the capital, with the largest choice of boats. The west coast around Gothenburg is more open to the sea, with granite islands and fishing villages, and a smaller fleet.
How many charter boats are available in Sweden?
122 boats are based in Sweden in our latest fleet snapshot, from operators including Yachtcharter Sweden, Sail Aile Stockholm, Sailing Blue.
How much does a yacht charter in Sweden cost?
Nightly prices start at €123 for a boat with cabins; a typical boat here costs about €369 a night, roughly €2,583 for a Saturday-to-Saturday week. July and August cost more, and skipper, fuel and extras are usually on top.
Which boat types can I charter in Sweden?
The fleet here includes: Sailing yacht (89), Motor yacht (13), Motorboat (10).
