Fleet snapshot of September 28, 2026. Prices and availability change daily — the live list below is current.
Slovenia has one of the shortest coastlines in Europe, but it is a practical and well-placed charter base. The whole fleet — around 50 boats, all sailing yachts — is based at Marina Izola, between Koper and the old Venetian town of Piran, and many crews from central Europe drive here in a few hours.
Slovenia's own coast can be seen in a day: Izola, Piran and Portorož, with the Gulf of Trieste to the north. Most charters therefore head south into Croatian Istria, where Umag, Novigrad, Poreč and Rovinj are a string of easy day sails, and on to Pula and the Kvarner islands of Cres and Lošinj for crews with a full week or two. Crossing into Croatia means clearing out and in at official ports of entry.
The season runs from May to October. Summer breezes in the northern Adriatic are usually light to moderate, but the bura can blow hard from the north-east, particularly in the Gulf of Trieste and the Kvarner, so crossings are best planned around the forecast. Trieste and Ljubljana airports are the usual ways to arrive by air.

Questions about chartering here
Where can I sail from Slovenia?
Along the short Slovenian coast to Piran and Portorož, north across the Gulf of Trieste, or — most often — south along the coast of Croatian Istria towards Rovinj, Pula and the Kvarner islands.
Do I need to clear customs when sailing from Slovenia to Croatia?
You will need to complete border and entry formalities at an official port of entry. Ask the operator for the current procedure and make sure the boat's papers are in order.
Is Slovenia a good base for a first charter?
The coast is short and harbours are close together, which suits a first week. Watch the forecast for bura, which can arrive quickly in the northern Adriatic.
How many charter boats are available in Slovenia?
55 boats are based in Slovenia in our latest fleet snapshot, from operators including Adria Service Yachting, Batana Navtik.
How much does a yacht charter in Slovenia cost?
Nightly prices start at €105 for a boat with cabins; a typical boat here costs about €183 a night, roughly €1,281 for a Saturday-to-Saturday week. July and August cost more, and skipper, fuel and extras are usually on top.
