Fleet snapshot of September 28, 2026. Prices and availability change daily — the live list below is current.
Panama's charter fleet is small but covers two very different cruising grounds. On the Caribbean side, the San Blas archipelago — Guna Yala, the autonomous territory of the Guna people — is a scatter of low palm-covered cays and reefs with clear, sheltered water inside. On the Pacific side, Panama City is the base for trips out to the Pearl Islands in the Gulf of Panama.
Catamarans are the main choice, many of them chartered with a skipper or crew who know the reefs and the local customs of the Guna communities. Motor yachts make up the rest of the fleet, mostly around Panama City and Ocean Reef Island Marina.
The dry season runs from about December to April, when north-easterly trade winds blow steadily in the Caribbean; May to November is the wet season, with more squalls and lighter winds. Reef navigation in San Blas is done by eye, so move between anchorages in good light, around the middle of the day.
