Denmark is a sailing nation with hundreds of islands, and its charter fleet here is all sailing yachts, most of them new or nearly new. Distances are short, harbours are close together and the water is almost tideless, which makes Danish waters well suited to relaxed harbour-hopping.
The main base is Juelsminde on the east coast of Jutland, at the mouth of Vejle Fjord. From here the islands of the Kattegat and the approaches to the Little Belt are within a day's sail, and a week can head south through the Little Belt to Funen and the South Funen Archipelago, or east towards Samsø. Most stops are small island harbours with a village close by.
The season runs from May to September, with July the busiest month. Prevailing winds are westerly and can be fresh; in the narrow belts, the current can run strongly depending on wind and water levels, so check it before a passage. Daily legs of 15 to 30 NM are typical, which leaves time ashore.

When is the best time to sail in Denmark?
